GMO Event Quantification
A GMO (genetically modified organism) is defined as an organism whose genetic material has been modified using genetic engineering techniques known as ‘recombinant DNA technology’.
The rapid increase in the production and commercial size of genetically modified crops and food products derived from them in different countries in recent years has increased the biosecurity concern worldwide. Acceptance of these products has key requirements that include GMO monitoring and labelling.
Within the scope of monitoring the product; appropriate sampling, reference material and full determination of GMO content by analytical methods. The most widely and practically used analytical method is the targeting and identification of the genetic modification itself (eg. DNA) using the polymerase chain reaction, which can be applied with high specificity to products of different levels.

The kit contains two separate assays, one assay is specific for the 281-24-236 event, and the other assay is specific for the cotton reference Sinapis Arabidopsis Homolog 7 (SAH7) gene.
A calibrator DNA and a dilution buffer are included within the kit to create the standard curves for both assays. The florescent detection of the both assays is accomplished using FAM filter.
